Da Game album was mad rushed by No Limit...Snoop needed time to work on the album and Master P was putting out new records every 2 weeks it seems...

I edited my joint down to

Snoop World
Slow Down
Woof
Tru Tank Dogs
Still A G Thing
$20 To My Name
Nutn Personal
Dog Pound Gangsta
Game of Life
See Ya When I Get There
Picture This
Dogs Gonna Getcha

:ehh:

I mostly agree with this tracklist I wouldve added

Hoes, Money and Clout

I know these 2 were on other albums but I wouldve put them on Da Game to balance out the Beats By The Pound Production with some west coast tracks
Hooked
Gangsta Move

I'd cut out

-Woof: The song isn't bad by any means, but it would have been better placed on a mystikal/fiend album, they are both a lot better on this song than snoop, also has to do with the fact that the beat just isn't for snoop and he comes pretty forced on it
-Gin & Juice 2: This one shouldve simply got a different title, the beat isn't bad per se but it it in no way comparable to a classic like Gin & Juice. Snoops performance is ok on it, but this couldve been better included in one of the nl compilations with a different name
-Hustle & Ball: The song itself is probably the best song mashing Snoops flow with a typical BBTP production, but it couldve also been better off on a compilation as the album shoudlve went more in a west coast direction
-Tru Tank Doggs: Same reason as woof, Mystikal wouldve made this a great solo track for one of his albums
-Don't let Go: Lyrics are strong, the beat is also ok but unfortunately snoop comes pretty off beat on this. Couldve been a strong track :/
-Dogs Get Lonely 2: Lame as fukk, snoop mumbles some bullshyt which makes you fall asleep. Theres also an original version with P & Silkk, which features a better beat but unfortunately also boring/bad verses
-Pay for p*ssy: Unnecessary skit from the death row vault
-Picture This: Another unnecessary track and snoop is pretty weak on it

The remaining NL influenced tracks were dope.

-Snoop World is a pretty cool intro track
-Slow Down: very smooth, soulful cut, perfect for snoop & mia also comes strong.
-Watcha Gone Do: also very west coast sounding, snoop comes strong
-Both 20 Dollars For My Name & Aint Nuthin Personal are bangers, even silkk came correct on those.
-DP Gangsta: a nice lil tribute
-Game Of Life. also dope, again very west coast sounding & steady mobbn & snoop make a good combination.
-See Ya When I Get there. Great west coast beat courtesy of meech wells and everybody comes correct here.
-Doggz Gonna Get Ya: Another obligatory remake, but pretty cool nontheless.
-Get Bout It & Rowdy: Not that bad, snoop over the bout it bout it beat is pretty cool.

agree about Gin and Juice 2:snoop:

at the very least Meech or Soopafly should have done the production

Snoop World should of been the blueprint for where he should've shifted his flow and production style towards, stretch it across the whole album, would've been classic easy

Wouldnt have been half as bad if they just gave it a different title because snoop wasn't bad on the beat. But goddamn it just is NO GIN & JUICE 2 :martin:
Another song that always annoyed me was "Don't Let Go". The songs lyrics are pretty good, the beat would be ok also but snoop somehow completely went off beat on it :mjcry:
And "Hustle & Ball" for me was the best "Snoop on classic nl production" song but I wouldve included it on a compilation, wouldve also fit better with them and instead include as many west coast-ish songs on here as possible

I was thinking "Woof" especially, there are a couple more just cant remember them now

That being said I think the album is unfairly sh1tted on, there are enough tracks on it that are enjoyable

Without a doubt, the west coast style tracks were dope and even some of the no limit songs were certified bangers like "20 dollars" or "nuthin personal"

PS:
What Y'all think bout "Show Me Love" and "Hoes, Money & Clout" ?
After all those were, along with "Still A G Thang" the songs with classic producer/feature line ups...

shouldve definitely been a single instead of "Woof":snoop:

Yeah wouldve made a good 3rd single, I think Still A G Thang was a perfect choice for a single as well as Slow Down which was also a good cut.
But yeah, what you think of "Show Me Luv" ?
