Yo, anybody, maybe the homie @1-8-7-Skillz, know the story of the "Eastside Party" joint with Nate that ended up coming out 2001. Off
the dome you can tell/hear that it was recorded during Tha Doggfather days. But why wasnt it on the album? I looooove the joint, especially with my breh Nate (RIP).

Like with Head Doctor & Midnight Love & joints like that u know it was due to sample clearances. But ive never heard anything about Eastide Party. Too smooth of a joint just to not use it IMO.

I dont know that either, but the Doggfather Tracklist is a fukkin mystery anyways. There are so many dope tracks they just didnt use, thats why the album in its retail form just isnt all it couldve been with all the filler songs etc. My theory is that they saved the song for an "Eastsiderz" project, because the original group consisted of Snoop, Daz & Tray Dee, and there actually is a version with Daz & Tray Dee performing two of snoops verses. Guess he recorded the version that came out on the death row greatest hits but they searched for some songs to put their project together and snoop gave two of his verses to tray dee & daz and chose to cut the solo version from his album.
Just speculation tho

PS:
Listening to the unreleased songs now, that "Gangstaz Life" is crazy. Long ass storytelling song with snoop absolutely goin in. Contains some parts from "Dogg Named Snoop" & O.G.. Guess he chose to use his already written lyrics on those songs after this one here got cut.

Bought it on its release date in 96 was hype to go get it....but extremely underwhelmed. .....Snoop still one the G.O.A.T.S. in my book tho

Played the tape maybe three times the week it dropped. Nothing grabbed me off that album. shyt got loss in a sea of tapes at the time.......Didn't revisit that album until the late 2000's, no joke.

That ruff mix of "Usual Suspects" is dope af, that beat is so much better than the one they used on the greatest hits
"Dat Bumpin" is also a dope song

Gangstaz Life would have been a perfect way to open the album, why it didn't make the cut I'll never know:snoop:
