Even if it was top 6 or top 15 players in the league, I'm not sure it matters.

Lebron and Davis are great players.
I don't think the team is a championship favorite right now but they aren't bad on paper.

Spurs still got a better future tho

AD's a great player but no way he's a top 5 player in the league at this point. He often puts up empty stats and he lessens his impact by not wanting to play the 5 as often. He definitely could become a top 5 player, but he's definitely not one right now

Even at the 5 you could argue he's only third best behind Embiid and Jokic.

I never believed it

I never Believed Chris Bosh was a top 5 player during his era, but his results say different, so we would have to wait and see on davis

If healthy AD is expected to be top 5 this upcoming season. With KD gone for the year you've got Giannis, Kawhi, Curry, Harden, Bron (if he's healthy enough for the season) and then it's AD. So he should be in a mix for top 5 player depending on how many games he play.

All these Paul George Nikola Jokic dudes....I'd take my chances on AD.

A lot of people who don’t watch him regularly will be surprised how good he is

He can dominate on both ends. You can feel his presence on every possession. When he rolls to the basket he’s taking at least 2 guys with him. He can pick and pop, plus put the ball on the floor and finish violently. Defensively he’s a hound. I’d actually start him at center but I know they want him at the 4

he has a case, granted he hasn't seen the team success of the rest of the guys mentioned but numbers wise yeah, plus I remember when everybody was saying how AD is the #1 player they'd build their franchise around

ill tell you whos not top 5 in 2019 tho :gladbron:

Coli scouts yall:mjlol:

If this thread was made a year ago you fakkits would be saying "of course hes top 5:gucci:"

But now he Laker it's all empty stats:dead:
Y’all act like you never heard Anthony Davis referred to as a top five player or possible best player in the world for the past few years. It’s only an issue now. Wonder why.

Word, just a year ago dudes were hoping AD would join a contender because of all that talent being wasted away on the pelicans. Now that he is on a better team "the lakers gave way too much for empty stats injury prone" :russ: shyt never changes. As if he all of a sudden forgot how to play

Skills wise possibly but only leading your team to two 40 win seasons in the 7 years he was in NO is :picard:. That ain't a top 5 player to me

Giannis
Harden
Kawhi
Bron
KD
Steph
Embiid

off the top of my head
I had the same exact sentiments in a post earlier, and exact players who were not only better players but better leaders as well. His team was already out of the playoff contention by the time AD was officially shut down after ASG and He had a good squad last year.

He reminds me of a certain PF that used to play for the wolves, much better defender than him, but nothing more than empty stats.
