This sub forum said voting right act was symbolic. When people were heavy on that "we are not our ancestors" wave mocking the civil rights generation as passive some years ago. If you look at what has transpired since then you can't tell me that the ancestors didn't hear all that disrespect. In an unbelievable turn of events all they gained is being undone. So we now practically get to see people who mocked that generation and suggested they could fair better have to stand on those words. People who said segregation might have been better night have to stand on it. People who said protesting is useless have to show another way. People who said voting rights act was symbolic have to show how their voices will be heard once their vote is not a guaranteed right.
People were given history and education to learn from the past... still chose to forsake it. They told.us they were withholding a vote when their voting ability was being withheld and interfered with. They thought being absent was a play...that tangibles would come with a plea to turn up at the ballot. Tangibles then got taken away because the party they allowed in power made moves all up the political system to take not give.
These people won't admit they were wrong. They are riding a burning car saying that everything is under control. They will die prideful and ignorant.
