So Are We Going To Continue To Pretend That We Don't Know The Truth About The Bay?

So who else visited the San Francisco Bay Area for the Superbowl? I remember people posting meme's and vines talking about "Watch out in the bay mayne we don't play around out here", further reinforcing my theory of the SFBA being capitol wolfenstein.

The numbers never add up but they keep barking, pretending that they aren't the richest area in the country with square 16 year old Asians riding around in their parents BMW with gold teeth in their mouth. Hell, DJ Vlad is from east oakland, and Vlad wouldn't be hard if he was the evolved version of Steelix from Pokemon.

Anyway, I had a great time laughing at the irony of it all. It's like watching a schizophrenic act out his favorite rap music videos. Southern migration in the 70's really has folks thinking they built like that 40 years later. Watching a non-black with a black girlfriend say the n word religiously in the presence of her and her three brothers with no consequence is like watching a lost play by Shakespeare that was kept secret with million dollar tickets, and you get free VIP entrance. Just a priceless experience.

I almost high decibel laughed in a chicks face that I was conversing with, for insinuating that she was a street chick when she was from Santa Clara county. She somehow believed that because she ran away from home by choice (and not really considering she alluded that she still had access) to suck on a wannabe, that that somehow gave her street credibility. LOL! You can't make this shyt up.

I also ran into a chick from the L.A suburbs who moved to Oakland on purpose so she could act out her hood chick fantasies. And get this: She even went so far as to tell me about her ex boyfriend who's currently in a mental hospital who she was living with along with his mom. Seriously, the bytch thought dating a literal crazy person gave her stripes. I swear SFBA folk need medicine for real.

These idiots don't realize that they aren't flexing in spite of not being from the bottom, but because they aren't from the bottom, and they know it's safe for them to flex. In a real life and death environment they'd be civilians walking around with their head down.

Overall it was whack but the people made it entertaining. Is there anyone else that paid SFBA a visit and has actually had experience in real hoods and contrasted the two?

Thread will fly over a lot of heads but it speaks to a larger point of our (black folks) identities being so fractured that we choose to signify with the worst elements of society in order to come across as authentic or down.

The amount of self-loathing in the black community is off the charts. :snoop:

We identify ourselves with minstrels and criminals in order to validate ourselves amongst ourselves.

Disgusting really.

not everyone from the ''hood'' is gangsta

Did you pay attention to what I said? That bytch moved to one of the worst areas in Oakland on purpose. From uppercrust L.A. Dated a litteral psycho retard. On purpose. What does that tell you?

Face it, the SFBA needs to be honest with itself. The media hyped you into thinking you're something that you aren't.

By the way, none of the places you mentioned are bad, just bad by SFBA standards, which has great quality of life experience overall. Also I have to hold back a laugh at some of the places you mentioned. EPA has a population of 50,000 people and a murder rate of...5. Palo Alto is far from dangerous and far from the hood (maybe 5% black at best). Richmond is the only place worth mentioning, and they don't claim to be part of the bay.

Nope. Black on both sides and proud. I don't understand why non-blacks even come here.

not everyone from the ''hood'' is gangsta
Of course. But SFBA isn't the hood period, which is kinda the point of the thread.

some of the craziest people i know are from surburbs,

They need medicine, I agree.

Where is this coming from? I don't really make comments about G-Unit musically in all my time posting here. I think I play Devil's Advocate in discussions about them more often than not, I do respect Curtis Jackson the person though.

so you laughing at people for trying to behave a certain way that you yourself dont seem to know about
What does this mean? I'm laughing at people for pretending to be something that they aren't. For acting out a character of what they believe they should be instead of what they actually are. You would never live in the hood but you want to act hood? You would never run in the street but you want to portray the image? I don't pretend to be anything that I'm not so it doesn't apply to me. Aside from that I'm really from the hood and really did come from nothing.

I've lived in the Bay and got fam still up there too so i know from experience that it ain't no joke (How they not part of the bay when Oaktown is 'bout 3 or 4 turns or less than 10 mins down 580 I can't figure).. Just because that lady was trippin out don't make it any less real and best believe the brothers/sisters up there been fightin poverty and the police long before we was born (hence Huey Newton Bobby Seale & the Black Panther Party born right there in Oaktown) and Oscar Grant, and the brother shot up by SFPD a few months ago :wow:

Exactly. The Black Panther Party Oakland is dead and gone. Stop piggy-backing off shyt that ain't got nothing to do with you now. Suburbanites running around hollering the bay when they didn't have shyt to do with that era and aren't currently active either. I used the story about the broad I ran into because she is a perfect example for the majority of people in the bay and their thinking. Bay Area folk have an Omar Epps In Too Deep complex that needs to be exposed. How are you standing in the middle of the suburbs talking about "the streets"? The whole idea is asinine. I feel like the average bay area resident needs to be admitted to a psyche ward.

And Richmond isn't part of the bay because that's what they'll tell you out of their own mouth. They recognize the bay is butta pecan soft and they don't want anyone jumping on their back. A sentiment that I understand completely.
