I read somewhere that the story was allegorical and that the eating of the fruit (that's what they did right?) represented them choosing knowledge over ignorance?

You're gonna get bored living forever

And there's gonna be no way to stave off the boredom, because you will have done literally everything

I don't see how god could even be mad at that. Of course I question a lot of shyt in the bible and tend to think that a lot of the stuff in it has been revised, rewritten or simply made up. My thing is why would god want to keep knowledge from man in the first place.

The Bible starts off with a fairytale explaining how seeking knowledge and being curious is blasphemous. Terrible way to sell your religion.

I've pondered this question myself and the one conclusion I reach is there is no morality to knowledge. For instance we learn about atoms and how to split them. The end result is nuclear weapons. For all the things our knowledge creates it results in a net increase in death and waste. Oil, atoms, genetic manipulation, etc. The end result is always the same, things die and waste is increased.

My take on Adam and Eve in the bible is they were the apes who evolved. They had the choice of living a long life in harmony with nature, ignorant of the world around them. They chose to have knowledge of the world around them and in turn we lost touch with the harmony.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. U can't worry about something if u don't know it exists.

Put on your thinking caps for a change

1. tree of knowledge of good and evil = an individual who knew the difference between good and evil

2. serpent means - enchanter/ one who whispers a magic spell and according to Revelation 12:9 and 20:2 the fallen angel was called the serpent, and he and his angels were brought down to Earth, intent on tricking/deceiving humanity

3. Eve was told that her pregnancy would be painful, and the serpent who took crafty counsel against her would now have children.
