nah, the governor pulled a gentleman move, and is gonna step in and let Biden on the ballot

but if he hadn't, the Republican legislature wasn't gonna bail Biden out, since they're doing the DNC nomination past Ohio's deadline. which seems fukking stupid, given that Biden is the sitting president, and it's not really up in the air :dead:

unless he's doing so bad physically, that they're stretching it out as far as they can, in order to sub in Newsom if they have to :mjlol:

You're an awful poster.

Republicans are trying to play games.

Frank LaRose, the Republican secretary of state, has said that he plans to exclude Mr. Biden from the ballot because he will be officially nominated after a deadline for certifying presidential nominees on the ballot. This is usually a minor procedural issue, and states have almost always offered a quick solution to ensure that major presidential candidates remain on the ballot.

The Biden campaign is considering suing the state in order to ensure Mr. Biden is on the ballot, while also searching for some other way to resolve the issue without moving the date of the nominating convention, according to a person with knowledge of the deliberations.

Ohio Republicans in the General Assembly took different paths toward trying to get Biden on the ballot. Senate Republicans took an existing childcare campaign fund bill to include a one-time legislative fix that would change the timeline in which Democrats needed to certify their candidate from 90 days to 74 days to accommodate the Democrats’ convention.

But the bill also included another provision that would ban foreign nationals from contributing money to ballot campaign initiatives, which drew opposition from Democrats. Democrats believe Republicans were upset after the party was able to scuttle a special election in August that defeated a ballot measure at the center of an abortion rights fight and for successfully passing an abortion rights measure in November.

They tried to kick him off since the convention where the candidate is officially announced is just outside of the at least 90 days required before the election. Basically a technicality. A law has already been passed to prevent him being kicked off the ballot.

He'll get on. Basically it's because the national convention/nomination is going to happen shortly after a deadline in Ohio to get on the November ballot. It's a process issue that the (republican) governor of Ohio has pledged to fix.
