Depends where you're going too, some areas in the North are so racist they hate southern Italians. But regular Italians are ok, just don't be surprised they ask you stuff about "black people", ignorance can be high in some areas. And keep in mind that contrary to the US or other countries in Europe (UK, France, Belgium...) they're not really used yet to seeing black people/foreigners.
