The agent i work under has about 30 houses at the least any week for me to expect.
I drive to each house and inspect it, make sure aint no one broke into it or not shyt like that. Take pictures of it and do the shyt to prove i went to the house.
For each house I do I get paid 10-20.
And im alone the whole time. So no need to dress up.
Okay, that's different. You get paid per house. That's fine.
So if you have 30 houses a week, he's going to pay you $300 to check 30 houses in that week. You are guessing it's going to take you 8 hours of your time so that would be 16 minutes per house for 30 houses.
Is he paying you out of pocket with cash or are you getting a check from the real estate office? You may want to inquire because if the real estate office is giving you a check, they are putting that down as an expense in their books. It can be tracked to you and the IRS can inquire about that, even though you are kind of representing yourself as an independent contractor of sorts (real estate office is not putting you down as their employee so they don't have to pay FICA). You will be on the hook to account for that as income on your income tax return. Do not screw that up. Your annual income will probably be low such that you won't have to pay anything, but file your federal and state income tax form anyway. Because if you work another job and you boost your income, it all adds up.
Sounds like a cake job. It will probably take more than 8 hours to inspect 30 houses though, including time to drive. Couple notes: 1. don't have anyone tag along. It's your job and it's beyond easy. Do a good job and get paid. 2. if the house is in a sketchy neighborhood, inspect it during the daytime. Get in and get out. There might be a reason that house needs to be checked out for possible B&E... and a reason why that real estate agent doesn't want to check it himself.
real estate agents are aware of which homes are in the hood. 3. Wear sneakers in case you need to run.
