Im a huge supporter of his pre 2012 work, and Take Care is full of bangers. I don't fukk with him much these days But man The Ride is just perfect. Between Abel's Vocals in the background, the minimalist, borderline 90s boom bap drums, and the overall balance of braggadocios, regretful, shameful, successful lyrics makes it just Everytime this shyt comes on, whether Im driving, or Im just chillin smoking, the shyt always gets me mellow, and confident.



Then The ending lyrics Drake provided

He was amazing on both. SFG is still my favorite project by him to this day.

One of the first time I saw how lethal him and Abel can be when they come together. I mean there was "The Zone" which in itself is amazing, but from a rap standpoint, the ride was crazy. Im glad Abel branched out and did his own thing, but I think they could have done a lot of things on the same team.

Im glad Abel branched out and did his own thing, but I think they could have done a lot of things on the same team.

They need to make a damn EP or something.... I wanted an album from them.. Especially after "The Zone"

I mean... to be honest, they're further apart now than they ever were sonically. Abel's new shyt doesn't sound like HOB/THURS/EOS, and Drake's new shyt doesn't sound like TC/SFG. Coming together now wouldn't be the same, I think it would be a bit forced, hard to believe that crazy year when HOB/THURS/EOS and TC dropped was FOUR years ago.They've grown apart musically. Even on "Live For" it didn't sound like old times, it just sounded like a Drake feature, not an OVOXO production if that makes sense? Does it?

Makes perfect sense... "Live for" was rushed... They did that shyt in a night.. I don't want an EP/Album now... But at that time!!??? I was all for it... Wouldn't mind more FOCUSED collabs though.

They had such a natural chemistry. It sounded like they fit perfectly. I don't know if it was because Abel's sound was a hybrid of Drake's or what, but I know that shyt sounded like they were meant to do tracks together. I remember hearing WTT for the first time and I liked it, but even Jay and Kanye after years of knowing eachother sounded a bit more forced than the OG Drake-Weeknd collabs.

and yeah Id love that. they bring out the best in eachother.

I wish that last part had been longer when Weeknd's vocals and the beat drop, but that's one of my favorite Drake songs…..The verses are a little long and not quite poignant or dark enough to be really compelling, but I love that song regardless….
