I'm not saying that. Top tier guys like McGregor forsake base salary for PPV shares :manny:

That's top tier guys in MMA only receiving that much?

Top tier guys in Boxing? Miguel Cotto just made $15 million to fight Canelo Alvarez in November.....and that was his base salary not even including the PPV revenue cut he received after the fact:sas1:

Don't let me even go into detail on how Canelo Alvarez' purses breakdown (he gets an automatic 80/20 split on all PPV profits from Golden Boy Promotions plus his base salary of $5 million):sas2:

Which is why you'll never see a decent or top boxer go into MMA unless he's washed up or broke...

And we know why no top MMA guys go into boxing...

Holly Holm a different story. Had a career but female boxers don't usually get paid as much (not as much interest) but decided to do MMA and became successful a lot quicker (by taking out the overhyped one) but still making peanuts

Lol, even IF McGregor is UFC's current cash cow, I'd loooooooooooooooooove to see him try and squeeze $20 million outta the UFC for one fight. It'd go something like

I will say one thing in defense about MMA that's a new sport in the grand scheme of things so the money isn't all the way there yet

Lorenzo Fertitta: UFC will generate record-high $600 million revenue for 2015

"We'll generate about $600 million in revenue for the year 2015, which is a record for the company and it's a fairly significant growth coming off 2014. The exciting part of the platform that we've built is that we've been able to embrace different tiers of revenue. We have our basic pay-per-view business, that is our biggest source of revenue. Then we have our media rights, which is really similar to rights that we sell to FOX for all of the programming we give them. And then we have embraced the over-the-top platforms, where we launched UFC Fight Pass, which is a subscription service of $9.99 per month where you can access the entire UFC library and we also put live exclusive UFC events from around the world on that format, as well as original programming. So we really have those three sources of revenue to generate, three ways to monetize our contacts."

I dunno why the fighters dont form some kind of union of something...what the fukk can Dana do really if they all go on strike for bigger cut of the revenue? They're a bunch of idiots to be fighting for those kind of peanuts especially with how brutal MMA is :mjlol:

Problem is that most of them aren't prepared to take even the smallest lack of pay. Most of this country isn't so I'm not taking a shot.

Not for the fighters. Dana, Lorenzo and Frank are eating well.

Not that you didn't know that.

They are eating well. Let's not act like Bob Arum doesn't eat well as well or Don King of off Mike Tyson for all them years. Again I'm not saying it's right but UFC is just a faction of MMA not the whole.
Breh he said that and I'm sure they are making money but I've also heard reports that they are in debt :manny:

I didn't say they didn't I would be interesting to see what the 2-3 boxing promoters make relative to the UFC.

I say that in the sense of them doing a few big cards a year to the constant cards for Zuffa.

Before anyone comes in here saying boxing promoters make more.......I just talking revenue relative to the frequency of fights.
