not really. 4 straight #1 recruiting classes is pretty unprecedented. ur right that teams do fall off, but the ease at which bama is reloading has not been seen in recent memory.

Man we went 12-2 and people talking about The game is passing Saban by, and talking about we falling off. Look at how Miami and USC fell off.

That's falling OFF.

If 12-2 and competing for the NC every year is falling off I'll take it.

Tony Brown was a true freshman.

Vernon Hargraves III when he came out was just as highly touted and he played phenomenal as true freshmen (first team all-sec I believe). i'm not saying brown can never be a good player. but the days of using the he's just a true freshman excuse are over. if a guy is considered a 5 star prospect and get playing time as a true freshman and doesn't perform, then I would get worried about him. very worried.

I'm a Tennessee fan and we have similar concerns about our 5 star true freshman WR Josh Malone. We beat schools like Alabama and Ohio State to get him and he didn't look like a 5 star freshman last year eventhough he got loads of playing time. I hope he lives up to the hype, but we've seen many a 5 star recruit flop. Tony Brown could just be the next one.

Yea but it takes talent time to develop. They lost a lot to the draft this year, will be breaking in a new qb, and then another qb in 2016. They got two things on defense thats been easy to expose if you have a compotent offense; not a dominant pass rush and a leaky secondary for quite a while

they lose alot to the draft every year. the thing i would be worried about if i am a bama fan is whether the tide have lost their touch in recruiting. they're still getting the most highly touted propspects but in the past, they rarely missed. 5 star recruits flop consistently and there are 3 star recruits that end up becoming 1st round picks. what made bama national champs 3 outta 4 years is that they usually hit on their 5 star recruits and also found plenty of diamonds in the rough who ended up becoming great. just look up their 2008/2010/2011 recruitng classes. those classes served as the foundation for their 3 national championship runs.

What I would be worried about is the lack of dynamic freshman perfomrnces last year. usually bama had like 3-4 of the true freshman each year become key cogs almost immediately. so that even though they would always lose star juniors to the draft, no one worried cause those underclassmen were just plugged right in.

last year only Cam Robinson for the freshman class really looked the part. guys like Dashawn Hand and Tony brown struggled. you better hope Saban hasn't lost his touch in player evaluation.

You buggin like shyt fam, most true freshman ain't gonna be they best off the bat. Regardless of what an elite few do. Hell Jemeis was red shirted and he's probably the best prospect since Luck.

Dashawn Hand was fine in his limited time. Tony Brown will be fine, Bama will be fine.

QB is different. Derek Barnett was a 4 star recruit for the Vols and as a true freshman tied Jadeveon Clowney's record for sacks and was 1st team All-SEC. Myles Garrett a Texas A&M broke clownley's record and was also 1st team all-sec.

outside of QB, most guy who end up being elite show up as true freshman.

Hargraves had a better year his Freshman year than this year.
