Don't be cruel...how else would children who were mentally, physically, emotionally, and sexually abused turn out? I'd expect them to have problems. From childhood to adulthood, they were surrounded by vultures! Now, as adults, I'd expect for the ones in the family left alive and not on drugs to get help...but who knows

I think their father just groomed them for music like many parents do. Drug addiction is partly genetic in that drug abusers tend to have drug abusing children. It's probably true there are drug abusers within their family who aren't famous and didn't have the same upbringing. In that case they were predisposed to addiction. It might have come from their father, who might have been white trash Detroit.
