So today, I was playing music as I was working on my assignments and Let Me Blow Ya Mind came on. I was curious and googled the song killing time and this article popped on my Google search engine and comes to find out, it was a diss song to Kim and Foxy:ohhh:

Some of why'all nikkas hot, sike I'm gassin'
Clowns I spot em and I can't stop laughin
Easy come, easy go, E-V gon' be lastin'
Jealousy, let it go, results could be tragic
Some of why'all ain't writin' well, too concerned with fashion
None of you ain't gizell, cat walk and imagine
Alotta why'all Hollywood, drama, passed it
Cut bytch, camera off, real shyt, blast it

In 2001, Lil Kim’s celebrity was at an all-time high. Unfortunately, her second album, Notorious K.I.M. hadn’t lived up to the critical and commercial heights of her 1996 debut, Hardcore. She’d also had some catty comments regarding peers like Foxy Brown and the fiery Ruff Ryders First Lady, Eve. So Eve subtly threw darts at Kim’s fashionista image and uninspired music on this mega-hit with Gwen Stefani.

T.I. calls out SOMEONE on 'Addresses,' 10 other songs you didn't know were disses

I was turning 11 that summer when the song came out:yeshrug:. I was a fan of Eve and I like her today but back then, I just assumed she was affable with other female artists around this era but I guess she was not

Kim wasn't the average Ny'er that did subliminals..Kim probably missed that diss, Eve should have came at her direct and got dragged :mjlol:

Scott Storch... lets keep it real. Dre probably added just a few synths here and there.
It's why I said "Dre and 'nem"..... Man you don't know how much luster Dre has lost to me once I got older. It happened when I heard the song he sampled from " G-thang" and he nothing but add a baseline and synth and created one of the most iconic songs of all time. And I still think he's great but he ain't the GOAT hip hop producer

My bad. I didn’t read the ‘nem’ bit. You’re 100% right.

The same with Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson... those albums they produced was essentially all Mike with Quincy hiring top level musicians and writers to work with him.

That’s not to take away from his contribution but it wasn’t as much as people would have you believe. He got Michael that polished sound but the Mike written tracks were all him.
