I'm gonna keep it 100. I didn't buy Timberlands since I confirmed the story in late 1990s, before then I thought it was a rumor. Nike ACG boots were and are better than Timbs anyway..
After the earthquake in Haiti, I read about what the company was doing down there to educate the people about agriculture and building sustainable farms. It wasn't a photo op with a big check and poor children as stage props, they actually went down there and assisted in the way I always felt people should..not by giving a fish, but teaching people how to fish.
I lifted my own personal boycott, I haven't purchased any Timbs since then, but now I would if I saw a pair I wanted.
The facts remain the same though. Head of the company was embarrassed that Black kids were wearing his boots in 1993.
