You're attempting to apply logic to something which itself is illogical and made up very recently in the span of human existence(race)

White people who have nothing going for them and are failures in other respects need to cling to the idea of belonging to a 'superior race' and riding the accomplishments of others.

IF anyone actually did want to consider who the 'superior' race would be, white people would be near the bottom of the totem pole. If Native americans were built like Africans, North America as a mostly white continent wouldn't even exist since the natives had crazy numbers and were essentially killed as a result of the plagues and violence Cacs brought with them.

I might write a sci-fi story where scientists travel to an alternate dimension that resembles earth in the 1600s and they innoculate the natives just to see what happens. They'd probably come back in 1776 to see them sporting head dresses woven with hair from the scalps of the cacs they merc'd
