punk has a match or one that is better, or its equivalent.

on top of being better as a solo performer.
before being moved up the card because of lack of quality workers on roster.
plus, an anemiac workrate grafted on to the company.
so, only one performer could shine at one particular time.

just for starters,...
where are hbk, or cripple ache's before they were in wwf moments.
hbk has one moment outside of one ripoff tag brawl in the awa.
featuring the pretty boy and that other loser as the replacements for the me.
that was a bootleg low quality ripoff of the rnr vs me.
whereas alternatively,..i could cite higher quality punk works his way to the top moments greater than hbk's.
which range from the indy's to the top of the wwe card.

hbk needed the wwf, to allow a worker to work.
if hbk was in the other feds, he was never a worker of note.
duke would have never been shyt in the nwa, and that is real.
as he had to be a bootleg replacement for Morton in the awa's version of the rnr.
where he could not even get burn and Morton was nowhere near the athletic performer hbk was.
so, real talk....

As status said, CM Punk surpassed HHH ages ago. The BITW will be remembered as possibly the best worker of this era when all is said and done. He's be like R. Clemente in baseball: praised during his career, then highly revered after it. God-like status.

As far as CM Punk vs HBK... it's almost a push. I wouldn't be surprised if CM surpasses him too down the road..

I've been thinking about this and I've come to the conclusion that most of my (all-time) favorite HHH matches involve some sort of gimmick or stipulation (HIAC, street fight, triple threat, etc.). I think that's when he is really in element as a performer.

Triple H was ok in the ring but a lot of his great matches are because he was in there with a better worker or one just as good as him. While Punk can get a 4 star match out of someone like Mark Henry and Big Show. I think he is a far superior worker than the Game and has been for quite a while.
