So "Holy Grail" is clearly Jay-Z's best work?

:what: hell fukking no

The energy is there, but some of these songs fall flat as a whole and just sound weird to me. I don't know how to explain it honestly. Like La Familia for example. :heh: That song is fukking garbage.

This album is a good example of why I try really hard to like Jay-Z's work other than American Gangster and RD and I realize I just need to accept that oftentimes it's forced, hollow mediocrity.

The hardest fukking song on this album imo is Beach Is Better but it's only 57 seconds long :dahell: come on b

The vast majority of rappers' best work is their first album...hard to beat that because its an introduction to them and they are at their hungriest.

Off the top of my head, the only albums I'd put MCHG ahead of are Vol. 1 and maybe BP3.

It's just not that good. Jay's too unambitious on this record.

Nah. Better than BP3 slightly better than KC cuz of the production. Lyrically he came harder on KC tho.

RD
Black Album
BP 1
Vol 1 & 3
AG

All superior to this.

Best thing about MCHG was the consistent production and lack of features.
