"I'm so sick of the news coverage when a white person goes out and kills some black people. The justice dept. is involved, the President is weighing in, and ALL the news organizations have the story front and center. While this was a very tragic ordeal and lives were lost, why aren't the HUNDREDS of black on black shootings everyday getting the same attention? The occasional shooting or killing of black people by a rogue cop or disturbed white person seems random to me. But, the black on black violence, killings, drug culture, gangs, failures in schools, fatherless children, black imprisonment rates, etc. are systemic and culture issues that should be talked about daily. Not just the routine "it's lack of jobs" or "lack of opportunity" crap. All those excuses are just nonsense. To say that ANY black person has been denied just or fair opportunities in life is pure fiction. The Civil Rights movement of the 1960's gave blacks an UNFAIR advantage over whites when it comes to employment opportunities, affirmative action, and access to education. To say that blacks have been discriminated against or have been kept down would only say that the black community has squandered every opportunity that was HANDED to them for the last 50 years. Maybe that's the problem.........Martin Luther King Jr is rolling in his grave today."
