So what you're trying to say is that your daugther's school isn't teaching her adequately.

Nigguh talking our ears off with that drivel to say exactly what you just said in one sentence. He need to stay off that weed.

Okay, so I don't expect this thread to make any numbers, might not even get a reply.
But I got my daughter a book, it's called Astrophysics for young people in a hurry.
It's written by Neil Degrasse Tyson, he suggested it's a good xmas gift for kids on twitter.
Amazon reviews even had people saying their 7yr old loved the book.
So I got it.

I personally love science, ever since I was an adolescent.
I believe it was the science of space, the universe, planets, stars and all that shyt that served as the entry point for me to like all other sciences as well.
At that age that sci-fi type shyt is the most interesting, even though it's not sci-fi but you get what I mean.

So every night I been reading her the book and of course i'm explaining everything.
Almost every sentence she has questions.
The book talks about matter so then I explain matter to her, and then particles and this and that.
So alot of sidebar explanations, so the book reading is not going at a fast pace, which is a good thing mind you.

But as we go, she is asking for explanations and many things and alot of I didn't even knew she was wondering the shyt.
But she was asking how come in books they show her at school they have something like this:

iu

In the above pic they all lined up.
But then she says in other pages they show this:

iu

So she was like which one is it, how does the solar system look like?
Are they all lined up or are they all over the place.
So then I explain why her why, because the first pic is just to show the order of planets and which ones are the closest and furtherst.
She was like ohhhhhh.... how come they never explained this to us in school.
They just go through pages but don't really explain much, she even said we are just kids how are we supposed to know that if they don't tell us.

Anyhow, as we went on there were loads of other same type of instances where she was shown stuff in school but they never explained it.

Okay so i'm really high right now not sure if I made any sense
You a good dad. Not many parents read to they kids. Better than letting the internet raise em

Encourage her not to be shy about asking clarifying questions like these. Every kid (and really every person) is different. It’s not always apparent what does and doesn’t “click” with each student.

Utmost respect breh. Dap + rep.

Depending on her interest and your ability, consider taking her to the Smithsonian or a Planetarium.

Astrophysics is very math heavy at the collegiate level... If her interest holds firm make sure she's good at that.

It's amazing how our our perception of scale and shape get distorted.

Like world maps are super inaccurate in showing size and position of continents.

when i was in 9th grade our science teacher was explaining the half life of radioactive material.
the way he drew it on the board was a square that he cut in half and shaded it. i asked him if that is how it really happens or if the process happens evenly throughout the material.

he looked at his drawing like :skip:and then looked at me like :whoo:

but then went to :why: because now he had to explain how it actually happened.

he walked like he had springs in his shoes for some reason.

If he had flipped that around on y’all and made that a homework assignment them nikkas would have been waiting on you after class
