So I finally played Dark Souls 2

[Ice Cold]

I played about an hour and died 6 times, twice before I even got choose my character.
I was walking around and saw some weird looking dog things, my nephew told me I should fight them, and I got killed, came back and accidentally walked off a cliff.
Finally got to create my character and started adventuring things were going well at first through the "tutorial" until they asked me to jump a gap and and I fell to m y doom.
Then I went to some place with like mjolnir or something where some african dude was selling armor, there was a talking cat and some dude lying about his tools being locked in a some place. Kept adventuring til I met a golem type dude and he quickly beat me to death, went back for more and fell off a cliff trying to dodge him, went back again and beat him but then his brother with a big ol hammer beat me to death

I dunno about this game man, first souls game for me since Demon.
Help me out brehs I'm not trying to get owned by this game

Just go slow breh. Draw each enemy out when you can and fight them 1 on 1

This game is going to be a bytch if u didn't play dark souls 1. I put over 300 hours in it and I still had problems with 2 . Just take your time and learn attack patterns.


Also rolling>>>blocking. I never use a shield. Stamina management is a must. Always leave enough to roll away after u attack.

you went the wrong way. the forest of giants is easier for a new character.

also go back to majula and talk to the lady by the bonfire. she levels you up and gives you an estus flask (heals you)then go to the well by the big house and hit the rock. it will bring up another estus flask. give it to the woman who levels you up.

anytime you pickup a sublime bone dust. take it to the bonfire in majula and burn it. it levels up your flasks to give you more HP.

you have to buy the blacksmiths key from the old merchant at the 2nd bonfire in Forest Of The Fallen Giants

Majula = where you start with those old ladies that bring you back for the first time?
I'm a swordsman, I'm trying to avoid reading FAQ's since as I understand it some of the fun is discovering things for your self

Majula is the big sunny place by the ocean. with the guy selling armor and the blacksmith locked out of his house. by the bonfire should be a lady wearing a hood. you talk to her to level up and what not. also light every bonfire you find, those are checkpoints basically

everytime you rest at a bonfire it repairs your equipment, brings your health back, and recharges any spells/estus flasks you have. but it also respawns every enemy in the level except for the bosses

you talking about when you die? use a human effigy, but they are limited. theres also a ring in a chest at Heides Tower of Flame that reduces the health penalty when you die.

I got a ring of health as my starting gift, but I don't no how to equip it, I tried just going to it but my only option is to trash it

You gotta go to the equipment tab to equip it. If you go to items you can just look at it

And don't use the human effigies yet they are very limited at the beginning of the game.

Google the "ring of binding" and go get it. It will give you your health back. You should be able to run by the enemies who are pretty difficult at this point
