Real talk- if the oldest was adopted then maybe your parents had trouble conceiving when they were trying at first, so they adopted.
But they had 7 kids after him tho. That's the weird part

that happened to my best friend. Him and his wife had trouble conceiving at first, wife had to go thru some procedure to get preggo. They had their first child, a yr later she got preggo completely naturally, they weren't expecting their second one at all. Especially that soon, but it happened. They now have 2, and both kids look like my boy, so no questions asked. You never know bro.
