From what I've heard, what attracted a lot of black people to him is that he preached against racism and treated them with respect (at least on the surface). It's really a shame when you think about it that people like Jones are able to take advantage of black people's desire to be treated like people.
So I watched a documentary on Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple. How many of you knew his supporters were mainly black folks? Remind you of anything?
