Absolutely powerful brehs. :wow:If you've never seen it before i highly recommend. I actually teared up a bit. I dont think we REALLY realize how inhumane slavery was. The part where they described the slaves eating out of troughs like pigs i nearly lost it. We were viewed as ANIMALS back then LITERALLY!!! With these recent events against blacks, whether it be Trayvon, Michael Brown, Donald Sterling or SAE i hope yall are awakening to how they STILL feel about us in 2015.

Give me a few days, but I'll watch.
I'm just getting over the Hurricane Katrina documentary. I don't know if I'll be able to handle this.

I think we're gradually forgetting (or being made to forget) our history and its making us forget who our enemy is and decreasing our black pride. That, along with media propaganda and the self-hate they've instilled in us has resulted in blacks thinking racism no longer exist and controllable. Also, you are an example of how positive and educational media can shape and mold a person. I just dont understand the continued:cape: for all this negative poisonous rap and reality shows. Why do we think THATS not having an effect also like positive programming can? My daughter WILL view this also.

My mom made us watch this as kids. This video is a big part of why I'm so pro-black now.

:salute: to my momma who made sure we (her children) learned our history.

Yea its deep. No BS when i say i got a little teary eyed. Watching, along with seeing what is STILL happening to us even to this day puts everything into perspective. The effects of slavery is still being heavily felt today. Its almost like that big elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about even tho its the root cause of the black plight and also what this country was built upon!!!!

I knew my great grandfather was born in 1882 but I just found his parents, my great-great grandparents.

Both were born in 1850. Leflore County, Mississippi. They were freed when they were 15.

stfu get over it and stop blaming ur problems on the why can azns come 2 this country and b successful but blacks cant im so sickof the liberal media peddlign this crap to make whites feel guilty i dont feel guilty you're better off in america than in africa if you would pull your pants up and stop having oout of wedlock sex you might not get shot by the police so this is nothing but reverse racism blacks r the real racists and the real problem is black culture not racism

I remember this documentary from way back when. I don't remember if I saw the whole thing but I'm bout to watch it again. History really does put things in perspective. Situations like Ferguson become easier to understand when you're aware of the fact that our system of policing is derived from slave patrols.

I already was made aware of all this .before I watched this... I look at current white people the same as I view those white people back then

So it would take a lot for me to get sad.

I know you'd spin this into a hip hop diss..:stopitslime:

My dad's side is from there. Haven't got the chance to do much research on our genealogy though.
But damn, 4 generations is not that long ago, contrary to what some people want us to believe.
