So if I'm not miserable 24/7 I can't be "woke"?

You can be whatever the hell you want to be. To my knowledge, we only have once chance at this thing called life. Don't spend your life living up to someone else standards. If you want to go out and do activism and help people do that. If you want you to party and bullshyt do that too. Like the late great Bernie Mac said if they don't like it then....fukk'em

How can you be aware of a problem that's all around you wherever you go, and be content?
Its called life. Most people on just goto work, post here/other social media, goto sleep, have fun on the weekends, repeat process. That seems pretty content to me. Majority of people aren't doing nothing that will be remembered if they dropped dead today so I'd say the vast majority of people are content or don't do anything substantial to change it even if they aren't content.

If you're not miserable, you're probably not "woke."
Not saying you have to be angry 24/7, because you need other emotions, but you won't be "happy-go-lucky" all the time either, if you're paying attention.
Police killing people every day, more and more people being locked up into the prison-industrial complex, starvation for millions because of the greed of the Western countries, borderline-genocides in at least two countries, some of the foundational aspects of your daily life only existing because American corporations are keeping hundreds of thousands of people in quasi-slave like conditions not even making enough to survive, dictators, mass rape, failures of the US states, people suffering constantly, anti-Blackness in the media, etc.
If you're happy today, its probably because you haven't read the NYTimes or Al-Jazeera yet.

I mentioned awareness. Are the people in your example fully aware of the problem?
