Just go anytime before 4PM
I usually hit the the theater between 1-4PM and I have the theater to myself for the most part.
Maybe 6 people at the most but usually just me right in the middle and someone down in front.
I’m walking out when the crowds are coming in.

go to Kips Bay,12 street, 19th Street or Lincoln Square AMCs, or Regal Battery Park, and sometimes Union Square Regal

ig it wouldn’t have mattered in that particular case, but I like going to the ICON theater on Roosevelt because they have the 21 & over only section that lets you sit above and away from the teenage crowd
