So I'm playing through FFX for the first time

Got that HD Remaster, this is my first Final Fantasy game (we're not counting the FF14 Beta ) I'm about 5 hours in and it's pretty interesting story wise. The hero Tidus seems wild mango tropical, the voice acting is pretty cheesy, LuLu is a freaking b*tch (she's hot though)
I have some questions though I bought some new weapons for my crew but there doesn't seem to be a way to directly compare to see which weapon is better.
How are you supposed to level up your characters evenly, always swap em in and out?
How do you know what to do for Overdrives? I was using the blue cat dude (Kimhi) and did my over drive and had no clue how to make it max out damage, so I ended up doing like 100 damage.....

im playing through it too and basically to level evenly you just have to keep swapping.

and i think the weapons just have abilities attached to em, not stats

this is my first legit playthrough (only played in chunks before) and its dope, story moves a little slowly but there are big payoffs

the voice acting is bad but its a 15-year old game so i give it a pass, and the story easily makes up for it

Yeah, it does. Allows you to go back through all areas and offers some new areas to discover. It's not as open as say FF7 but it has more than enough extra content via mini-games and such to entertain. Think it's more towards the end of the game when it opens up though.

I think the blue guy is useless never remember using him, stock on spheres, it doesn't matter who battle as the spheres determines who get stronger. Are you past the master that uses the 4 elements?

They fixed 14 breh and that shyt is piff now. I'm not really an MMO gamer but that's the best FF experience Square put together in almost a decade.

Yeah I never used Kimahri through the majority of the game.

Then they force you to fight a battle using only him.

Kimahri's actually kinda ok if you put him through Tidus grid and make him an all-around cat who can fight all types of enemies, requires lots of effort though.

His overdrives can be piff. Give him stone breath and he basically one shot kills multiple enemies
