I have a 22 ES350 and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever at 40k miles. It’s a boring car and it isn’t particularly impressive but the low cost of ownership and dependability can’t be beat.
Mazda and Toyota have a dual plant together in Alabama. So if Mazda is fine with teaming up with Toyota, and keeping it all the way Japanese then I guess they aren't too different.
