Last year you had

Reid, Tressman, Kelly, Arians, McCoy, Chudzinke(sp?), Marone and Bradley.

Only Bradley was had a defensive background if I'm not mistaken and He got the Jags Job :skip:

This doesn't make much sense to me. You can hire an O coodinator

It's going that way. The guys that are really making waves in high school and college ball are inventive on the offensive side of the ball. It's easier to find a decent defensive coordinator than it is for a defensive minded coach to change his mindset and have an explosive offense. Defensive coaches tend to want to protect their defense so that the stats on that side of the ball look good. When you can put up points, you don't have to have the best defense in the league, just a decent one.

The Cowboys would probably have a much better team if they made Rob Ryan their head coach.

Jason Garrett is an offensive coordinator masquerading as a head coach and he's wasting Dez Bryant's talent.

I dunno bro.
That team had Rob Ryan's personality all over it last season.
That's what a head coach brings to the table.

Ryan didn't have to be the head play caller. But as the front man of the team, he should have been there.

Jason Garrett is a goon.

Times can change. I know defenses have usually been what you really needed, and that won't go away. Now offenses are learning to spread defenses out and use the entire field, which causes holes in the defense. So teams which can only score 15 points a game are going to be constantly beat in the meaninful games even if they have a great defense. You have to score points going forward. That won't change because it's more exciting to the owners and the fans.

Top 5 teams in Total Defense in 2013:

1. Seattle
2. Carolina
3. San Francisco
4. New Orleans
5. Cincinnati

All playoff teams, mind you.

Top 5 teams in Total Offense in 2013:

1. Denver
2. Philadelphia
3. Detroit
4. Green Bay
5. New Orleans

As of right now -- Denver, Philadelphia and New Orleans are playoff teams.

I think Defense matters now just as much as it ever has.
