As for the op question? It's a horrible idea. If you don't like a group of posters/etc you have the ability to block sed posters so they will no longer exist in your surfing experience (Tru Story)
So why the separation? Is it because there are now too many games and movies to talk about in one section? Cuz if I'm not mistaken, both sections fell off. Just like playing an online first person shooter these days, DLC fragments the community. In this case, whichever section you don't frequent like you used to is the "dlc" So instead of going to the movie section I just stream everything, have no need to get hooked up anymore. I don't contribute to that part of the community anymore because of this move. The people we all supported like big b, tr2k, rg/etc I no longer see them shine.
You mean to tell me we gonna change all of that because some posters don't like the console war? We gonna cater and curtail the entire websites structure to please a sensitive poster who doesn't exhibit enough intelligence to basically use a mute button?
I understand most websites do it this way, which is why "The rec room" was special, its why this place will never compare. Or maybe I'm wrong and business is better than ever? Is it? Does @cook release these types of receipts
The point is moot with the multiview option. I was against the separation. Others were for it. But the multiview makes it so that everyone gets what they want.

Hated the move. 
I agree with the split. That might be difficult for some people to understand, but there are too many game and too many great TV shows for it to be in one subforum. I like that it's split
