so i've been watching Al Jazeera America over the weekend

i've really been sleeping on this channel. saw a great interview with Akon talking about all of the work he's doing in Africa. helping 14 countries get set up with electricity. setting up solar energy there. he's doing positive things. def wouldn't see that shyt on any other news channel. cant remember the last Akon interview i've seen period before then.

lots of black issues being discussed. American and in Africa. long in depth interviews. im gonna check out that Rick Ross documentary too. but i think it's a channel worth checking out.

I got aljazeera on my twitter and Facebook heavy. They like the BBC. No filter. They be showing shyt CNN/faux news don't.

AJA is the best 24 hour news channel out and has been since their launch.
Most people just don't mess with it because they are put off by the name.

Al Jazeera is good for general news. I'd venture and say probably the best. They cover Africa quite a bit and places in Asia that no one even thinks about.

When it comes to the Middle East, that's when the bias of the network comes into play much more blatantly. That's when you truly get the Qatari perspective on what's going on. The original Arabic channel gives no fukks

Al Jazeera America has been really good since their launch. They've cut out a few programs like Consider This... and they made The Stream twice a week (the Al Jazeera English version filmed in the same studio here in DC is on everyday). They also are showing more AJE news casts and programs which is a plus IMO.

But they balance it well with the domestic American events. Lot of coverage of black America, lot of coverage on economics, and interviews with regular folk. Ali Velshi's show is decent despite his Wall Street slobbering.

The mid-east Al Jazeera is probably worse than any version of Russian state TV.

Their bias is so absurd I don't know why anyone takes it seriously.

AJE is better but knowing how far insular it can be when it relates to anything in the gulf region, i know to not take it seriously.

The point isn't to find the best source, but to watch all sources and filter out the truth.

Its literally Qatari funded state TV

Its like watching Russia Today in St. Petersburg

They're cool when they don't talk about anything not in the Gulf states...but when they do, its straight to looney town. They damn straight ignored and downplayed parts of the Arab Spring. People quit their jobs over that shyt.

The point is to use MULTIPLE sources...not just one source of information.
