This has merit because the majority of fans are oblivious to how NFL owners conduct business...However, the problem is these same fans will say that Chris Johnson is stealing money from the Titans, or that Desean Jackson is holding the Eagles hostage by holding out, but will emphatically proclaim that Peyton and Brady deserve every cent.......and it has nothing to do with them being QBs either.....everyone is paid their market worth, so to say that Player X is overpaid as opposed to Player Y is asinine to me, but I hear it all the time
its not just black athletes though. White athletes, Spanish athletes, etc all get it to.

But lets get real for a second here. Alot of black ppl think its mostly talk about black ppl cuz they mostly follow that. Do black ppl listen to hockey talk? or anything like that?

The solution to this is that we need to have more parent-teacher conferences. When I see Cam Newton, I see a millionaire. I see a guy who made it when others thought he wouldnt. I see an entrepreneur.

We need more parent-teacher conferences.

:heh: Same reason the NFL can legally fix games. They're an entertainment organization in the same vein as WWE.

That's not unique to black athletes though. Hell that's not even unique to anybody who suddenly comes into a lot of money. The average person doesn't know how to properly manage large sums of money like that. A lot of them people who hit the lottery also blow all their money and end up back where they were before.

NFL players for the most part are a very replace commodity plus they have a short life cycle with few exceptions (mostly at QB). The NFL has done an amazing job of getting the public attached to teams rather than players. They've done what the NBA or EPL or La Liga would kill for. I read a study about different sports and how people attach themselves to athletes. The basic gist is that because the helmets hide their face that there's less attachment. They only see the logo on the side and just names on jerseys that can change. Think about how many people followed Bron from Cleveland to Miami as fans. Barely anyone followed Peyton to Denver or Montana to KC and those are the big names. It makes them more expendable and therefore more cheap. It doesn't make business sense for them to make as much as other athletes. It's fukked, but I see why they do it.

I understand it's good business for the NFL, I'm saying it's bad for the players. They play for the most profitable league by far and have the shortest careers and highest risk of injury. The simple fact that it IS such a high risk sport should result in them being paid more. I'm not saying they should get NBA or MLB money but they should damn sure be getting a bigger piece of the pie than they currently do.

did this study do the premier league and la liga as well? because i don't believe for a second that the NFL has more team devotion than any soccer league in europe or south america. shyt they don't even like being called fans, it's supporters because they support the team no matter what ... fan sounds to casual to them it doesn't sufficiently express their religious devotion.
