I Always though he had more :yeshrug:

Midnight love was his only album that went double. besides that he only had one other platinum album.

I always thought he was a huge star but I guess he was more of a Eric Benet or a Kenny lattimore

Not surprising. I never viewed Marvin as having mainstream popularity in terms of charting songs/albums.

:duck:

Released on May 21, 1971, What's Going On became Gaye's first album to reach the Billboard Top LPs top ten, peaking at number six, and staying on the chart for nearly a year, selling over two million copies, by the end of 1972

He was also a pedophile but nobody liked to talk about that.

16 is the legal age of consent in pretty much the majority of the states

and he met his wife at 16

personally that's too young for my taste but it's legal. and the techinical term for someone attracted to 16 yr olds isn't pedophile. (that word is assigned to people who like actual kids who look like kids)

There's a different more accurate term used to describe it but I'm too lazy to google it.

Majority of the words people use nowadays, they have no idea what they actually mean and tend to just throw them around because they heard others do the same

I always figured for most of the older artists/industry itself(back in the day) that it was more an emphasis on quality of the music itself rather than the sells :manny:

now look at what we have today :yeshrug:

what baffles me.....is that cats clown dudes for not selling....but they themselves dont buy music :yeshrug:

not buying music is like a badge of honor these days....especially with hiphop

so how is your favorite rapper supposed to do numbers....when his fans by and large dont buy music? :gucci:
