its native 720p but it can be upscaled to 1080p. The whole hoopla is that MS Is the premiere console for cod and usually was the better version for the life of the 360 until now. ps4 version is 1080p native

The Fuss is this.

You have an image that is 720p stretched to 1080p, the pixel count will stay the same and suffers some degradation. Stretching that image doesn't add any information or up the pixel count. Therefore it is not 1080p.

So basically, he's saying that the X1 is gonna be more like current gen than next gen. That tweet is basically the same thing as CG games putting "1080p" on the back, knowing damn well that the game isn't 1080p. But don't worry...as long as you have a 1080p TV, it'll give off the illusion that the game is 1080.
