Getting past the Sahara was pretty much impossible for large armies back then. Alexander tried the same thing. He saw the desert and the Nubians riding elephants and said nah I’m cool with Egypt :hubie:
so all they did was slaughter 800k Iraqis..
their attempts to conquer Japan failed too

history overrated them tbh

Same thing happened when the Mongols tried to invade Japan. There was a huge roadblock(the ocean) just like in Africa(a big ass desert) from launching a successful invasion.

The Sahara is scary breh. It’s about the size of the United States. I read a book about it once and it was saying how people that drove through it sometimes would lose sight of the road, go off in the wrong direction and never be heard from again. They’d just find the cars abandoned later. We can barely travel through it today let alone 2,000 years ago.

Romans and Ottomans too, lol

If I remember correctly, I think the Spanish mercenaries the Moroccans hired were the first ones to march across the Sahara and beat an African army

They're coming from the middle east or the Mediterranean sea. They wouldn't have had to do anything with the desert.

No, if anything they are underrated.

If it wasn’t for a couple of untimely deaths of their Khans, they would have wiped out all the European Kingdoms and extended their reach to the Atlantic.

:whoa:

The Mongols one of the GOAT armies breh

They would've WRECKED African armies in open battle....including any Somali force. They had small scouting forces giving entire European armies the business

They took out Chinese, Arab, Central Asian, European armies. The Chinese armies they defeated were the most sophisticated army at that point from what I understand

Logistics/internal issues doesn't mean they were ducking any smoke.
