Do you want to be known as a champion only because someone had to injured their best perimeter player to win? I would take to no pride in winning a championship if someone on my team had to injured an opposing player just to win. That means you're not the better team if you have to injured someone to win.
Jones did not have to injured Kobe because the Hawks were going to win the game anyway. He injured him with the mindset if he makes this he won't be able to play in overtime.
