Let's put it this way...

Let's say Kobe had to sit out in the finals agianst the Pacers and the Pacers won the championship. Do you want to be known as a champion only because someone had to injured their best perimeter player to win? I would take to no pride in winning a championship if someone on my team had to injured an opposing player just to win. That means you're not the better team if you have to injured someone to win.

Jones did not have to injured Kobe because the Hawks were going to win the game anyway. He injured him with the mindset if he makes this he won't be able to play in overtime.

I don't think Jones intended to injure Kobe...though it is a dangerous play anytime you walk into a shooter like that.

That said, anyone who does shyt like this on purpose is a bytch. It's not sending a message like a hard foul in the paint...it's just dirty. The only successful outcome of this type of play is injuring your opponent. If that's the only way you can win, get the fukk off the court and let someone else play you fukking scrub.
