It's safe to Golden State got this on lock for this year probably even 2017. There's a couple of squads out there with bright futures.

Indiana Pacers
Paul George may not be a superstar, but he's still an All-Star 2 way player. In addition to him, you have Myles Turner a promising rookie, who might have an All Star ceiling. Although George is under contract for 2 more seasons(player option for the 2018-2019 season), we don't know if Turner can take the next step before PG gets tempted to decline his PO and become a FA.

Detroit Pistons
Probably the closest team to contenders out of this list, Stan and the emergence of Drummond are bringing back life to Detroit basketball. Couple them with cost controlled quality young players like Stanley and KCP, and the Pistons seem to have brighter days ahead. Reggie Jackson is surprisingly playing decent in an increased role, and the recent trade for Harris may pencil him in as the good stretch 4 Van Gundy has searched for. The biggest question for Detroit is can Drummond improve his free throw shooting?

Philadelphia 76'ers
Before you fall over your chair due to laughing, just look at what Philly possesses in terms of assets. Nerlens Noel who is a defensive anchor; Okafor a walking 20/10 guy, possibly two top five picks this year(Ingram and Dunn), and the superstar caliber injury plagued wildcard in Embid. Despite their previous records, Philly has numerous ways to improve. Whether through making trades for disgruntled stars; drafting a star player, or using cap space to get solid vets, Philly won't be down for long.

Boston Celtics
Despite their current record, everyone knows that the Celtics are a treadmill team based on roster. However their saving grace is the control of the Brooklyn Nets picks. We all know that the Nets are bad and will likely be bad for the foreseeable future, so that lies the Celtics hope to salvation.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Quite possibly the youngest on this list, but have the highest potential. Acquire two of the last 3 first overall picks, have many T-Wolves fans envisioning a dynamic duo in Wiggins and Towns. Despite a good rookie season, Wiggins hasn't improved this season. However Karl Towns has been better than advertised, a more polished scorer than he was at UK, it's practically a shoe KAT will be a franchise player. As I said earlier, Wiggins needs to improve, also Minnesota needs a better coach and a shooting pg to soar.

If I had to choose someone other than my team I'd say the Wolves
