Perry is business wise 100% in the right.
His company owns his content 100%, his writers, his production, he even sets up his own distribution.
It isn't a partnership, he is funding this shyt himself and Oprah is who shows it and gets the majority of the ad money.
On top of that, like him or not, he is the one that saved that network.

If Oprah was smart she would hire her writers and produce her own Harpo content that is more high brow to go along with Perry, not try to undermine his staff herself by feeling she can hire writers for him.

This is the shyt that had Oprah's network about to die before Perry stepped up to the plate and saved her.

There's always room for improvement.
Personally, I think Perry has good ideas but his execution needs a lot of work. I think he can be a much better filmmaker if he was open to learning from others.

All this should be in her feedback to him with the show, but she doesn't own the show and she isn't paying the production cost, unless she is going to, she really should not be disrespecting him by trying to come at him like that.
Tell him if the numbers are down, tell him if its trending down, and let him work.
As a network head though, she really should be bringing in other showrunners to not solely rely on him like she has been doing.
