The reason I ask is that MLB player Marcell Ozuna seems to be in that situation. He ended up choking her and his career may now be over. I know it's easy to say just pack up and leave but damn in the heat of the moment.

REVEALED: Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna 'threatened to kill his wife during argument over cheating' before cops responded to her 911 call and 'found him strangling her'
Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna threatened to kill his wife before she called 911 on Saturday before Georgia police arrived at the couple's home and allegedly found him strangling her, according to an affidavit.
The reported threat was revealed in the arrest affidavit, which was obtained by Atlanta station WSB-TV. A Silver Springs, Georgia police spokesperson did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's requests for the affidavit.
Police found bruising on Ozuna's wife, Genesis, and although there were no red marks on her neck, 'the strangulation was witnessed by an officer,' according to the affidavit. The argument originated over alleged infidelities, police say, although the specifics of the disagreement remain unclear.

Ozuna, 30, was booked in Fulton County (Georgia) Jail on charges of aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor family violence. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Major League Baseball is reviewing the matter, but no suspensions has been announced by the Commissioner's office.
Genesis told police that she was showering when he took both of her mobile phones and refused to return them. It was then that Ozuna allegedly threatened to kill her and she responded by using his phone to dial 911.
'He threatened to kill her and she threatened to call 911,' read the affidavit. 'She took his cellphone from a table and called 911.'
Genesis chased Ozuna outside the couple's home at one point, where he allegedly told her in Spanish that he was 'not going to hit her harder because the police were en route,' according to the affidavit.
She then went back inside, locking the door behind her, and continued talking to the 911 dispatcher.
However, Ozuna managed to re-enter the house through the garage, which is when Genesis says she armed herself with a kitchen knife.
'She told the 911 operator that said accused was coming back and grabbed a large kitchen knife from a drawer,' read the arrest affidavit. 'Accused re-entered the house via the garage door and into the kitchen where she was. He continued to yell and verbally abuse her.'
Genesis told police that if he came any closer 'she was going to hurt him.'
A year ago, Genesis was arrested in Miami for domestic battery after allegedly hitting Ozuna with a soap dish, leaving the Dominican-born slugger with a facial laceration. Genesis is seen here in her 2020 mugshot
She said that she feared for her life because Ozuna had been 'physically abusive' with her in the past and was displaying 'aggressive behavior' at the time of the altercation.
Genesis told police that she dropped the knife at one point in an attempt to retrieve her cell phones from Ozuna, but only managed to grab him by the waistband of his pants as he held the mobile devices out of her reach.
It was then, she claims, that Ozuna struck her in the back of the head with his right hand and his left arm, the latter of which was covered in a cast from a previous injury.
'Accused then brought his hand down and punched her in the back of the hands with the cell phones (that he held in his right hand),' read the arrest affidavit. 'Accused then pushed his left hand and forearm (which was in a hard cast) against victim's face pushing her back and mushing her in the face with it several times. '
She claims he then began strangling her.
'Victim stated that said accused grabbed her by her throat by wrapping his fingers around,' the arrest affidavit continued. 'He then held her up against the wall, preventing her from breathing.'
Ozuna allegedly stopped assaulting Genesis when police entered the house.
He later admitted taking her phones and acknowledged that the argument had turned physical. Ozuna told police that he did push her to the ground, adding that she threatened him with a knife and later through a garden light at him.
Ozuna's sequence of events changed when he gave a second statement, according to police.
Genesis did reportedly show signs that she was physically attacked.
'[Police observed] several purple and red bruises on back of victim's hand consistent with trauma to the back of her hands,' read the affidavit. 'In addition to that, she had redness on her right forearm, consistent with being pushed and tossed around as described above.
'Upon arrival, I noticed redness on the left side of her forehead. Although there were no marks on her neck, the strangulation was witnessed by an officer.'
