When the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, they gave Nomar Garciaparra a ring (and I think a World Series bonus share).
And I thought that was pretty cool because for a long time Nomar was a big part of the Red Sox.
But generally, I'm not a big fan of getting a ring if you're traded midseason.
And I don't think Varejao was a big enough player to warrant that sort of gratuity, even if it was with them for 10 years.
Whatever though. He'll probably get his ring outright with Golden State.

I wouldn't want a ring if I wasn't actually on the team. And I would feel some type of way too if I was hurt and couldn't contribute to my team. Like when Caron Butler got hurt that year for the Mavs. Yeah he's a champion and was a huge part of their success that season but it has to be a hollow feeling to be injured during the actual playoff run.

"The NBA doesn't have any criteria to who the owners must give a ring to. They can give it to just the players/coaches/front office or they can give one to everyone in the organization all the way down to the janitor if they feel like it."
so it's not set in stone that he'll get one.. and we all know how that owner feels about players
