If Danny Ainge wanted to trade Rondo, he could have done it for Noel and a 2014 first rounder which is only top 5 protected. There aren't too many better offers for Rondo than that, considering his strategy right now. You can't tell me the Pelicans would have preferred Holiday over Rondo. Boston had a chance at that.

If he's going into tank mode, get a future first round pick with barely any protection and Nerlen Noel, probably should have been the first pick (definitly shouldn't have went 6th) AND he can't play til until January at the earliest!? That's PERFECT for a tanking team.

No, he's determined to come back quicker and better than Adrian Petersen. Yes, he said that. Although if Danny has his way, he probably wants Rondo to pull a Derrick Rose next season and take the year off due to muscle memory.

As much as people hate Rondo, he can probably compete for a playoff spot in this crappy East. I don't think they'd make the playoffs, but they're probably the 9th or 10th seed and definitly not towards the bottom 3 in the league like they'd want to be to have a realistic chance at Wiggins.
