North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
His raps, his flow is so :flabbynsick: yet he still gets so much air play. Not only does he not support local artists or even make an attempt to co-sign the current generation like they do out west, but he rubs it in their faces. Jay Z is so corny now compared to when he was at the top of his game at Rocafella. All he can do is rap about is material shyt and his music basically caters to hipsters and cornball ass nikkas. I'm :flabbynsick: I grew up on 80's and 90's hip hop and i'm not at all hating on Jay Z making music, but the fact that he gets away with putting out garbage music needs to be addressed. He openly disses new styles, trends and artistic expression from the new generation and basically acts stuck up in terms of raw hip hop.

I can't take this nikkas voice, flow or music. I will only bump pre 2005 Jay Z

in terms of his MUSIC, he has always had a wack voice. his flow and lyrical ability was able to over power is voice. 40 + year old hov has lost his flow and the lyrics aren't there anymore. The wack voice shines through now. Compared to Nas or Busta Rhymes or Big Daddy Kane or Kool G Rap, they all kept everything in tact.

i mean, if you really believed that, you wouldn't be lowkey begging/missing the content he laces with his voice. in hip hop your voice is the foundation. if hov's voice was ALWAYS wack then people wouldn't be still, at the very least, be concerned about the direction his MUSIC has taken almost 2 decades later. no MC in this game is fed on flow and lyrics alone. in hip hop your voice is the music, period.

Him "putting out garbage music" really depends on who you ask...all that other shyt you talking is really your fault for a number of reasons.

1. You complain about a nikkas music you DON'T want to hear and say you avoid. :leostare:
1. You still listen to the radio :flabbynsick:
3. You act like it's a gang of local talent to be co-signing at the moment...yea yea yea i know, it's some nikka on a stoop somewhere with bars almighty, if only Jay would just go souring the streets for this prodigy. :skip:

Let Jay suddenly stand next to all the "new" NY talent and the watch the "he loves the attention" brigade start. Just find a rapper you do like to listen to and shut the fukk up.

aint deniro from NY?

When acting great Robert De Niro calls you six times and you don't call him back, expect him to call you out on it -- at least that's how the story goes with regard to a recent interaction between him and rap mogul Jay-Z.

When De Niro saw Jay-Z at Leonardo DiCaprio's star-studded birthday bash, he made no qualms about calling the rapper rude and disrespectful, according to Page Six of the New York Post.

So why does De Niro want to talk to Jay-Z so badly?

According to Page Six, De Niro was reaching out to Jay-Z, a fellow Tribeca resident, about a song Jay-Z agreed to record for the Tribeca Film Festival. Jay-Z was reportedly unfazed by De Niro's comments and tried to joke about it, but De Niro wasn't going to be sweet talked. De Niro didn't even soften up when Jay-Z's wife Beyonce approached the pair, a source told the New York Post.

Jay is a royalty he can't just stand next to every upcoming rapper and put his arm around them cause if he did that his name wouldn't mean shyt anymore. A verse from Hov should mean something. He's got a reputation to look after.

You gotta prove yourself a lil before you get an audience with the king.
