So Skynet set the terminators’ memory to “read-only” because it was afraid of Skynet 2.0?

I always thought that Skynet was everywhere, like each terminator was fully Skynet, like Ultron was in Age of Ultron. I was reading a reddit discussion thread about T1 and T2 on reddit, though, and posters mentioned that Skynet was afraid of creating a true sentient AI outside itself, because it was afraid the new AI would do to it what it did to humans. These terminators were just glorified henchmen.

Posters also brought up that the terminator models didn’t know the other models’ weaknesses so that no one model could overthrow Skynet, and that the only model which had that info was the Terminatrix from T3, who was specifically created to wipe out rogue terminators.

I don’t know how true any of this is or if they’re just fan theories, but I was since I always thought Skynet was similar to Ultron

But then where the fukk was the real Skynet?

I thought Skynet was just a robo Voldemort. It was motivated by it's extreme fear of death so once it removes humans from the picture I think it makes other efforts on making itself invincible and immortal.
