It’s crazy how no one gives a fukk about these prequels, this was once the biggest show on the planet. They will have to do a lot to get the goodwill of the fans again.

GRRM is consulting on it. FWIW he has been praising the showrunners, particularly the unknown dude Ryan Condal, who pitched a Dunk and Egg adaptation initially before getting the House of the Dragon gig. And unlike the ASOIAF novels, the complete story of the Targ civil war is already published. They'll have to fill in character beats and dialogue but the plot and political maneuvering (which D&D were incapable of doing when they ran out of books) is already there for adaptation.

That was kiiiiinda the point. The show, like all things, kinda ignores the nuance. But he fell for Lyanna because Lyanna wasn't just a bird-brained highborn lady. Lyanna was a bad bytch in every measure. Rhaegar saw in her the spirit of the Targ warrior queens of the past. She was smart, just, decent, and not all talk, she had the hands and skills to back it up. Lyanna = Arya (which is another clue as to Jon Snow's true parentage from early on, as Arya strongly resembles Lyanna, and Jon/Arya look alike). Lyanna is supposed to be an inversion of the Helen of Troy trope. It's not her beauty that started a war, it's her everything else (though everyone else didn't know that).The actress for Lyanna didn't really work.

Was expecting something like the lady who placed arwen in Lord of the rings.
But as mentioned, this show isn't about Robert's War. It's about the Dance of the Dragon's and the Blackfyre Rebellion.

-A Feige-like roll atop all the D&D Spinoffs
They turned down the blank check for however many episodes they needed to finish GOT to hurry up and move onto all that shyt and by the end of 2019 all that shyt had been cancelled.
Lyanna not gonna be in the show. It's set about 150 years before.Hopefully they pick someone who exudes that kind of vibe. The GoT lady was a little too cute looking.
