The problem with the Frankenstein's monster comparison is that the monster was artificially created by someone, and therefore not considered fully human. By not granting full personhood to a being, we allow ourselves to disregard their rights, much like how we don't regard robots with the same rights as humans. If we deem transgendered people to be in some way artificially created, which is what referring to someone as a science project does, we allow ourselves to divest them of the rights of natural people. Transgendered people were created by the same forces that create cisgendered people, and as such should be granted the same rights and considerations as cisgendered people, including the right to a legitimized identity.
