She kept saying that if you dropped this year's and last year's Warriors team's into the Piston's era, they would suffocate them and shut down their 3pt shooting:russ:.

I kept explaining to her that there's no defense for Steph, Klay or Durant and that the Pistons have no way of matching the Warrior's offense because let's be honest, even if you bully Curry on screens and around the 3pt line, he still is gonna get his shot off. He averaged 22 when the Cavs employed that strategy in 2016, but...that was without KD:mjgrin:.

She knows her basketball, but she doesn't understand KD's impact on the team. She also said that he isn't a good defender and that Isaiah Thomas would have a field day...

With 80s rules they would win. Draymond and iguedola the only nikkas built for that type of smashmouth bball.
I can't see the Pistons winning in either era honestly:pachaha:
Detroit took 4.9 shots per game from deep in 1988-89, and shot 30% from deep. Aside from the whole most teams not even knowing how to rotate or use the principles of the zone back then, the 3-point shooting alone does them in. They averaged 4.5 points on 4.9 shots from behind the arc per game. You don’t even reach the conference finals with an offensive game plan like that. Curry has spent the last 3-4 seasons making more 3’s per game by himself than those pistons were attempting as a team.

This also leads into another point from her that I countered. She said that the Pistons would dominate in the post and on the glass because they employ a bigger line-up, but my counter was that the 3 takes precident over a 2 and that the Warrior's are far too good in that regard. She also was acting like the Warrior's weren't gonna live at the foul line like more fouls weren't called back then:mjlol:

Pistons are winning in 6 in their era with 89 rules.

Suplexing/Clotheslining Steph and KD over the course of 3 games is going to have them both out for the series by the time game 4 rolls around and thats when the Pistons take over.

She's right.

Pistons win easily.

You do realize that the game wasn’t actually a prison yard brawl/rugby match right? The whole “80’s and 90’s murderball” narrative is one of the most overblown there is. Besides, it’s best to not test a team when Zaza is out there. More important is that a team that takes 5 threes per game and makes at a 30% rate isn’t beating a team that takes 32+ and makes them around a 38-42% rate. Their offensive philosophy flat out wouldn’t work against modern teams. Evolution doesn’t go backwards.
