They were both wack, breh.
Clipse only worked cause he built on the bite a jayz formula from Philly most wanted.

you got this backwards.

jay-z bit phillys most wanted. not the other way around.

and the clipse were always vocal about being influenced by philly rappers, particularly the ones that jay-z bit like crazy in the late '90s/early '00s.

btw, most wanted turned down rocafella and introduced them to beans.

Pharrell dropped the ball on some dope talent like:

and

He gets props for The Clipse tho! I wish Timbo and Missy and Ginuwine and Magoo stayed together...too many bangers to name.
roscoe ended up going to jail over attempted murder I think. I been around him he a cool dude but from what I heard he was always too real for rap like most Philly rappers.

clipse came to Philly looking for sandman cause of his DVDs and wanted him around. They both jacked his style for a minute then did sandman dirty with whack ass reup album. Sandman is my homey he would spit a verse then spit a malice verse and I couldn't tell difference.

Bryce a timbo artist? :ohhh:

Timbo co prod Sorry Not Sorry. The track with the Street Fighter II sample

Rich is one of my really good friends who actually introduced me to Timbaland in New York like two years ago. I was in the room and Timbaland played some exclusive tracks from Jay Z’s Magna Carta and Beyonce’s surprise album. So I got to hear stuff before a lot of people did. That was crazy, I was like, “Yo this is possible.”

So, I was sitting in the movie theater, I forget which movie it was and Rich called me on the phone and was like, “Yo, Timbo wants to holla at you.” Tim was like, “Yo I like that song ‘Don’t,’ can you send it to me? What’s your email?"

He told me to come to Miami so we can work, he told me to quit my job. The rest is history.

It got complicated because he was busy with his artist Tink and she’s bubbling out here doing her thing. It was bad timing, so I had to go back to Louisville. But I already quit my job, but I knew I had to keep going.

I really did feel like I made it at that time because everything was in sync. Static Major being from Louisville and him working with Timbaland, I was like “This is meant to be. This is supposed to happen, I’m here, Timbo’s artist. Wsssup?”

Me and Timbo good though, he gave me a few beats for the project and he wants me to do some writing on his album.

I think if you just put out consistently good music (or make that one catchy song) that a lot of people like you can create a genuine buzz. It's rare but I still think it happens here and there

Meeh, at most within your own neighborhood or a local scale crowd. Almost impossible within the industry & on a bigger scale tho.

Just like how it's practically impossible to have a song on the radio without dealings with the industry. Don't matter how good/bad the song actually is. So all that "not signed to a major" is
the biggest bull ever. But it's a sell-able tool to use to the audience.

LOL.

no, YOU just didn't know about figgas & most wanted until AFTER jay-z bit their chit. you probably didn't know who they were until like 2000-2001. before the state property launch, dudes in the city were on jay's head for all the biting he was doing.

again, how do you think beans got on rocafella?
