a year ago, i was all for garrett getting the boot. thought dude was overrated and wasnt the type of coach to inspire and motivate.

this year changed all that. hes still not that charismatic or intimidating coach that demands your respect and make u want to go to war for.

but i really respect how garrett gave his rookies the confidence to come in, set the tone and have everyone follow. the way he managed the egos was something i didnt think he could pull off.

ive gotten alot a respect for garrett this season and i he deserves to stay more years with this young core.

with so many coaches on a staff and so many moving parts / phases of the game, how can you even tell what is to blame on the HC? how can you tell if a HC is good or not? maybe it was the DC fault?

Cause we've been watching the team religiously since before he was even the OC.

During his tenure as HC, we've always been laughably bad at clock management, challenging calls, discipline, and being prepared heading into games.

No matter what pieces we have on the field, no matter what assistants or coordinators we have.

Through it all, there is one constant.

And I'll add in game adjustments and adjustment periods. He gets away with what works to often and to quickly.

Garrett needs to go...he has very little to do with the offense...nothing to do with the defense...meaning his primarly job on sunday is managing the clock and challenging plays...and he is bottom 5 in both...he is not going anywhere though because in two years where he had his starting qb for the whole or most of the season he has gone 25 - 6 and won the division twice...cowboys struck gold with dak and zeke...but that also means that garrett did to...

Marinelli needs to go as well...runs such a bland defense...the scheme is...well nothing much outside of cover 2 shell...second year in a row the defense went a month or more without generating a turnover...his primary skill set is coaching effort which is something that should be a given...

Linehan should stay UNLESS we can get a gawd tier OC like McDaniels or Turner...yeah he gets a little to cute sometimes...yeah we run on 1st down WAY to much...but in the two years he had his starting QB all or most of the season he has put together top 5 offenses...He built one of the best offenses in football around two rookies...and the offense is only going to get better as Dak matures as a passer...it also can't be underestimated how Garrett spent years running the offense and calling plays no matter who the OC was until Linehan got here...before that we had that foolishness of Garret calling a play to Callahan...Callahan calling a play to Romo...and Romo changing the play to whatever the fukk he wanted...

Team is stuck with red and his inability to do anything but clap...luckily for us we are probably 3 good defensive players away from it not mattering since we got a top tier offense and a top tier special teams...

Garrett is a very good. He has fought Jerry Jones for some control all his tenure & has won with distractions. The Offense coordinator is to blame for this loss as well as the Aaron Rodger being great.

His ass needs to be gone yesterday. His entire coaching career has been "give Tony a chance and see what happens" and like clockwork when we don't have that x factor at QB we suck. He lucked up hard with Dak and what he's been able to do.

The secondary has BEEN trash year in and year out. Like the same level of awful over and over again.

Clock managment? Awful.

Challenging calls? Awful.

Situational awarness? God awful.

Good coaches show up. I can't name a game in recent memory that we won BECAUSE of Jason Garrett. I can name a few that we won IN SPITE of him. If we come away with even an extra FG off those wasted time outs we're likely playing Atlanta next week.

cant fault garrett. there were some questionable calls, and the team just didnt come out focused, so thats on him.

dallas d ran into buzz saw, the young guns brought em back, but the d let em down again.
you absolutely can fault garrett. the spike on first down, and kicking deep were fukk ups that should cost him his job. inexcusable to not know how to handle basic late game strategy like that in any game, let alone a playoff game

I don't think a coach is going to get fired after going 14-2 with a rookie RB and QB and losing in the last seconds of a playoff game
schottenheimer did. 14-2 anda late fumble to brady and beli with the lead and he was out the door

The decision to spike the ball on first down was terrible. You're not playing a premier defense, it was a depleted Packers d. Elliot could have gotten 4-5 yards. Then you work from there.

I'm glad the Cowboys lost since I'm a bitter Lions fan still mad about that precious playoff game tho.
