On October 14, 2008, M.O.P filed suit in a New York Federal Court against the WWE and John Cena. The group claims that Cena and the WWE stole parts of their song "Ante Up" for Cena's theme song "The Time is Now". The theme song is also featured as the first track on Cena's album You Can't See Me. M.O.P. is seeking the destruction of the song and asking for $150,000 in damages. The lawsuit has since been dropped, it is unknown if a settlement was reached outside of court

I'm not gonna lie....

and some of y'all gonna look at me funny....

but I always thought it was a Just Blaze beat and the sample was cleared because it sounded so close to Ghostface's "The Champ" (which they were using on their in program commercials for a lil bit), plus "The Champ is Here" and all of that.

how much do you think people get paid for when they sample a beat?

Not talking about the damn beat, I'm talking about you start the lump sum up high and settle in the middle. lump sum x residuals. They should make money everytime that song is played. I know it's johns song, usually WWE just pays things off to get rid of any potential bad publicity

Unless Living Color is getting a million for there song there is no way MOP is getting mill for there voice in a Song. if they got over 100,000 that is more then fair.
