they are not giving out loans for 3000$ unless you have 750 or above credit. to become a paramedic you have to be certified in cpr and various other things, and most hospital jobs in the descriptions will hire you if you have a medic license. trolls love taking over threads about real issues. the coli is getting lame.

I live in Austin too, but you have to own your own business, that's what I want to do. Personally I've never had a problem getting a job, so I don't think I've experienced that, but I also haven't stepped into the corporate realm of work, not done with school yet. I want to use my corporate job to save my cash and then open my own barbershop or whatever business the market really needs in the area.

If you're having problems make formal complaints. Especially if you think you being black is the reason why they're targeting and firing you.

Nice! I'm in San Antonio.

My father filed an EEOC complaint many years back for being let off from his job as a general manager. He was the ONLY black person to hold a manager position at this company. A very large manufacturing company.

Anyways this was after his stroke so it was not only racial discrimination but also for being disabled. They settled out of court.

Outside of a law suit or hard networking ...you may jet have to go where the jobs that are hiring in your field.

Except for government jobs, Getting a job these days is all about who you know.

If you fill out an online app, you minds well toss your resume into outer space, because that's basically where it goes

Best thing to do obviously is to go in another lane. On a grand scale? Definitely exploit the position you have wherever it is.

how long ago did you get the degree ? these things can take time. people often have to search and apply over a year before getting a job they want. you saying its the same everywhere sounds pretty defeatist. you honestly believe no one will hire you anywhere in your field because you are black ?

Make sure you take as much financial aid as you can get breh. Grants, loans, etc
